LUMA Creations and BIPC Liverpool announce free workshop series for local creatives

ARE you a creative person based in Liverpool? Do you want to turn your passion into a business? Wondering how and where to start?

LUMA Creations and Business & IP Centre Liverpool have joined forces for Creative Futures; a brand new, free programme designed to help creative individuals kick-start their careers and businesses.

The series will consist of four workshops taking place weekly throughout March, offering help, support, and advice from experienced professionals who have been there and done it before.

The workshop series will explain and advise on the intricacies of self-employment, including topics such as finance, marketing, and networking. Attendees will be joined by like-minded individuals in a warm, friendly, and relaxed environment.

All of the workshops are free to attend, but booking is mandatory. Tickets can be booked here.
 
  • Monday, 4 March 2024, with Francisco Carrasco MA FRSA, from:- 10:30am to 12:30pm.

    Understanding self-employment and being a business in the Creative Industries. What is success to you & what is your vision? Benefits & challenges of being your own boss. How do you plan? How will you earn? Who is your customer? Types of business (LTD, CIC, PLC, Partnership)
     
  • Tuesday, 12 March 2024, with Karen Gallagher MBE, from:- 10:30am to 12:30pm.

    Understanding how to network and develop partnerships in the Creative Industries. What is it? Why do it? Where & when do you do professional networking? Who with? Stakeholder & mapping, Tips & Tricks.
     
  • Tuesday, 19 March 2024, with Francisco Carrasco MA FRSA & Max Alde, from:- 10:30am to 12:30pm.

    Financial planning and income generation for freelancers including the financial irregularity of being a freelancer, planning, your bottom line, creating a personal budget, understanding financial literacy, your worth, income portfolio, and understanding taxes, deadlines, and what you can claim.
     
  • Tuesday, 26 March 2024, with Saranne Carrasco-Brennan, from:- 10:30am ti 12:30pm.

    Introduction to self & business promotion in Creative Futures, how do you decide your promotional strategy? Understanding the ins and outs of social media and which platforms work best for you? How do you create content that's fit for purpose? E-press kit or website? When's best to create a story, reel, or post?
