Widnes Vikings 1984 State Express Challenge Cup Final 40th Anniversary Dinner
WIDNES Vikings in association with Compere Systems and Graphfit are delighted to announce that a very special evening will take place on:- Friday, 10 May 2024, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the team's 1984 State Express Challenge Cup final victory over Wigan.
If you are unaware, following a famous:- 19 to 6 victory over Wigan, on:- Saturday, 5 May 1984, Widnes lifted the State Express Challenge Cup. This celebratory evening will see members of the 1984 cup winning side reuniting to give us their thoughts on a historic day for the club. Confirmed attendees so far are as follows:-
The club hopes to announce the attendance of further past players in the coming weeks.
The evening will include:- a raffle and auction, with items including:- a pie, chips, and peas supper. Following on from the recent successes of the John Devereux book launch and the return of Joe Lydon for a Q&A session, this event will be held within the Bridge Suite, at the DCBL Stadium, and promises to be yet another great evening of entertainment.
