Mellors Crowned North West Family Business of the Year 2026
ON Thursday, 8 May 2026, Mellors scooped 2 prestigious titles at the:- North West Family Business Awards, at the:- Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. Beating more than:- 130 regional competitors, the catering firm was crowned North West Family Business of the Year 2026 and Manufacturing of the Year 2026.
Organised by The Family Business Community, the event hosted over 400 guests to celebrate the success of family owned businesses. The manufacturing award recognised Mellors' dedication to creating fresh food from scratch, highlighting continuous improvement through initiatives like the:- 'Tuk Truck,' crafted by Mellors, and the:- 'Little Beekeepers Project.' Today, the independent business employs over:- 2,000 staff who serve more than:- 130,000 freshly prepared meals daily across Schools and Colleges. The overall Family Business of the Year title is a meaningful achievement following the company's 30 year Anniversary, in 2025. Founded in 1995 by Mark Timmerman and his Father, Tim, the business remains proudly independent. During the ceremony, Director Mark Timmerman delivered a speech celebrating the team and paid tribute to his father's foundational vision. Tony Trainor, Mellors CEO, said:- "We’re absolutely delighted to have won 2 awards at the North West Family Business Awards. We’re incredibly proud of our family heritage, and the family-focused values and culture that continue to shape everything we do.
