National 2 Minute Silence
A 2 Minute Silence is a national observance in the UK and Commonwealth countries, will be held to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, on:- Thursday, 8 May 2025, at:- 12 noon BST (UK time), to remember and thank those who fought for our freedom.
We are told that the 2 Minute Silence will be marked by all UK Government Departments, which will also fly the Union Flag at full mast. Other organisations including:- shops and offices, are being encouraged to follow suit if they wish to participate. You don't need to personally know someone who died to take part or be involved in any aspect of the Second World War. The 2 Minute Silence signifies meditation and respect, as well as remembering those who have died. If you want to discover more about the plans to commemorate VE Day and how to get involved, please visit:- VE-VJDay80.GovoUK to find out more. We have made a notice for you to freely download for businesses to explain to customers about your participation in the National 2 Minutes Silence. This poster we have made is FREE to use and distribute.
