Warning - Abnormal Load Notice
MERSEYSIDE Police are giving advanced warning to motorists of an abnormal load which will be moved through Merseyside on:- Sunday, 1 March 2026, from:- 8am.
Merseyside Police have said:- "Due to the load, which is a transformer unit, weighing more than 200 tonnes, it must follow a prescribed route and will be travelling at approximately:- 10mph throughout the journey that will pass though:- Sefton Council, Knowsley Council, Liverpool City Council, National Highways. The load is expected to take approximately 4 hours to move through the route." The route will be as follows:-

Cheshire Police said:- "Assisting the transportation will be 6 Officers from the Constabulary's Motorcycle Unit upon handover from colleagues at Merseyside Police on the A5300." (Added unconfirmed information) It has been reported to us that the movement restrictions will be ending near to the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on:- Station Road, Fiddler’s Ferry, Warrington, WA52UL.
