DOBBIES Garden Centres’ monthly children’s gardening workshop returns this March to the Southport store, and the topic is peas and other pod plants.
Kids will discover the different types of peas, learn which ones are edible, and enjoy hands-on fun by sowing their own pea seeds to take home and grow.
This month’s Little Seedlings Club will take place on:- Sunday, 1 March 2026 at Dobbies’ Southport store. The workshop will delve into what peas and pod plants are, what happens inside a pod, how climbing plants grow and why they climb, and why pod plants are important for gardens.
Dobbies’ Little Seedlings Club takes place each month at the Southport store, covers a range of different seasonal topics and is free to attend. It is designed to be fun and engaging for kids, with interactive activities and games to encourage curiosity about gardens and nature, with the chance to ask lots of questions.
Dobbies’ Events Programme Manager, Ayesha Nickson, said:- “As we start to see the 1st signs of spring, now is a perfect time for our Little Seedlings to get excited about spring planting by learning about peas and pod plants, and why they are important for gardens and soil. This hands-on workshop will be a great way for kids to get excited about all the sowing and growing they can do this year. We’re looking forward to welcoming kids along to this month’s workshop and we’re excited to hear how their pea seeds thrive.”
