ST John Ambulance Merseyside is strengthening its mission to deliver lifesaving support and 1st aid skills across the county, operating through 5 active community networks in North Sefton, South Sefton, Wirral, Liverpool, and St Helens & Knowsley.
As a charity dedicated to empowering local communities, St John Ambulance provides 1st aid cover at major public events, community outreach, and educational programmes designed to increase confidence and preparedness in emergency situations.
Recruiting New Community First Aiders
The organisation is inviting enthusiastic individuals from all 5 network areas to join as Community First Aiders. This rewarding volunteer role offers:-
- Full training and uniform provided
- Local community meetings and social opportunities
- The chance to learn valuable 1st aid skills
- Opportunities to support local events and deliver 1st aid awareness
- Involvement in fundraising to support charitable activity
Free 1st Aid Programmes for Schools and Community Groups
St John Ambulance Merseyside is offering its free Bronze School Programme to local schools—including SEND schools—alongside free 1st aid awareness sessions for community groups across the Region.
Each community network aims to teach 700 people lifesaving skills per year. Collectively, the Merseyside teams surpassed expectations, delivering training to 3,766 people last year—a remarkable achievement that demonstrates the dedication of volunteers and the demand for 1st aid education.
