OVER 330 gift hampers were gifted to care leavers during the festive period, thanks to items received through Liverpool City Council’s annual Christmas gift appeal.
Each hamper made had fluffy socks, chocolates, a gift, and a perfume gift set. The team also hosted a Christmas party.

Care Leavers are young people aged 18-25 who have previously been in the care of the local authority but are now currently receiving support and guidance as they move out of the care system to live independently.
With limited or no family around them, the annual gift appeal ensures they each receive at least one present at Christmas.
Councillor Liz Parsons, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said:- “The Care leavers Next Steps team and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Christmas appeal for care leavers here in Liverpool. The kindness and generosity of the people of Liverpool never fails to surprise me and it makes me so proud to be able to represent this wonderful City.”
