Nominations Open for Citizens 4 Good Autumn Celebration Honouring Everyday Heroes Across Sefton

SEFTON residents are once again invited to shine a spotlight on the incredible people who make their communities stronger, kinder, and more connected. Nominations are now open for the upcoming Citizens 4 Good event, which will take place on:- Thursday, 16 October 2025, from 5:30–7:00pm at Southport Town Hall.

This much-loved initiative, delivered in partnership between Sefton 4 Good, Sefton CVS and the Mayor of Sefton’s Office, recognises local people who go above and beyond to support others. From volunteers and fundraisers to neighbours who quietly make a difference, the event celebrates those whose compassion and commitment often go unseen.

Catrin Hughes, lead organiser, said:- “Citizens 4 Good allows us to tell the stories of people who are making a real difference across Sefton. Whether it’s a young person raising awareness for a cause, someone providing support to neighbours, or a Sefton resident creating positive change further afield—their contributions deserve recognition.”

At the October celebration, nominees will be personally thanked by the Mayor of Sefton, Councillor June Burns, and presented with a certificate of appreciation for their dedication and service.

Who Can Be Nominated?

The organisers are encouraging nominations for people who have:-

  • Made a positive impact in their community or cause.
  • Helped others through kindness or support.
  • Raised awareness or funds for important causes.
  • Dedicated time and energy through volunteering. (including running local groups such as Scouts, Youth clubs, Girlguides)


Past honourees have included residents involved in humanitarian relief efforts, inspiring community leaders, and even a 13-year-old who championed projects such as Alder Hey’s Sensory Environment initiative.

Catrin Hughes added:- “These events remind us how much good is happening every day in our borough. It’s a privilege to highlight those whose generosity and spirit strengthen our community.”

How to Nominate

Nominations can be submitted quickly and easily via the Sefton 4 Good website.

Sponsorship Opportunities
