Moose and Sonny settling in to their new homes.
Moose and Sonny settling in to their new homes.

"WE start 2024 with the amazing news that all of our potential XL Bully type dogs are safely placed in their new homes. We are very relieved and beyond grateful to the new, loving families of Aura, Dexter, Sonny and Moose. We want to thank every one of you who has reached out a hand and a heart to offer transport, share stories and information, and simply provide goodwill and love for the dogs and those working with them. The practical help and encouragement that we have received from our community have helped us to get over the line. Aura, Dexter, Sonny, and Moose have been adopted, and are right now settling into their new lives as the beloved family pets we all want them to be. Following the announcement of the new legislation on XL bullies in September, the deadline was set for a total ban on advertising, selling, or rehoming XK bully type dogs from 31st December 2023. It has been an extremely demanding time for everyone at Freshfields, as we strive to achieve the best outcome for the animals. There were many inquiries, and we assessed each one to make sure that the dogs were matched with the most suitable owners for their individual needs. Many miles have been covered and there are so many people to thank. We will bring you further updates once the dogs have had time to adapt to their new lives. The devotion and commitment of the people who were ready to bring a dog to safety has been awe-inspiring. On behalf of the dogs and the team here, thank you once again with all of our hearts. Unprecedented demand for rescue of every type of animal continues to overwhelm us at a pace never seen before. We must be able to continue to be here, to save those who just want a new home where they can be loved and cherished. The solution is in the hands of the community. Please help us all by always choosing a rescue center instead of a breeder’. Please call us on:- 01519311604 or contact us by email. For more information on Freshfields’ work, check out our website, or call Deb Hughes on:- 07956216106."
