Southport Comedy Festival 2024 launches search for Southport New Comedian of the Year
THE Southport Astronomical Society will be celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Heritage Open Days by opening the Hesketh Park Observatory for all to visit.
Both floors of the observatory will be open from:- 11 am until 3 pm, on the following dates:- 7 September, 11 September, 13 September, and 15 September 2024. Members will also be on hand to talk about the telescope and the history of this Grade 2 Victorian observatory and to answer questions on a wide range of astronomical topics of interest to visitors. Come along and discover the people behind the telescope, how it was used, and how it works. Marvel at the beauty of Victorian clockwork engineering.
