Lewes Council issues Statement of Solidarity with Southport
THE Chair of Lewes District Council, in East Sussex, England., Councillor Lesley Boniface, but the wording has been agreed upon by all 41 Councillors, has issued the following statement in connection to the events in Southport last week. "I know that a lot of residents will have been affected by the tragic events in Southport recently. It's extremely concerning that this could have been any community in the UK. All at Lewes District Council and residents throughout the district are shocked and upset by the attack and we send our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families, friends, Schools, and the wider Southport community. Our thoughts are also with the emergency services who responded so bravely and professionally to these tragic events. We strongly condemn the actions of rioters. Communities need to stand together at times such as these and we do so now, throughout Lewes District and beyond to Southport." Lewes Council.
