Police making arrests on Merseyside in connection to the recent disorder
MERSEYSIDE Police are making arrests following the disorder over the last week and will be making far more arrests over the following few weeks in connection to the violent disorder within Merseyside and other parts of the UK.
Today we have been told that Merseyside Police have:- "charged a male with violent disorder in Walton, on:- Saturday, 3 August 2024. A group were seen throwing bricks and other missiles at officers on County Road at around 10.30 pm. Officers moved forward and detained a man who was later found to be in possession of a small brown club. William Nelson, 69 years, of Linton Street, Walton has been charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court at:- 9.45 am, on:- Monday, 5 August 2024. It brings the total charged following disorder in Southport, Liverpool City Centre and Walton in the past week to 6." Merseyside Police also added that:- "A 3rd man has been charged with committing violent disorder in Liverpool City Centre, on:- Saturday, 3 August 2024. A group were seen on Stanley Street charging and swearing at officers and throwing missiles. Lloyd Killner, 35 years, of Burton Road, Lincoln has been charged with violent disorder. He has been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court, on Monday, 5 August 2024." Merseyside Police have also told us that:- "A 58 year old man from Southport has been charged with 2 offences following the violent disorder in Southport, on:- Tuesday, 27 July 2024. Derek Drummond of Pool Street, Southport, has been charged with violent disorder and assault on an emergency worker. Derek Drummond will appear at Wirral Magistrates Court on:- Monday, 5 August 2024."
