Slow progress at the Count in Southport
VERIFICATION of the Mayoral and PCC Ballot Papers is still continuing at the Count in Southport, Merseyside. The progress has been slower than expected and the Local Election Count will follow shortly.
The turnout has yet to be announced, but speculation is the turnout will be lower than normal, but even if true, this will not be an easy call. Currently all parties standing are tight lipped as to who they think will win. We still have verification of the Local Authority Election Ballot Papers and the court of the papers. It is expected that delay in counting of the Local Council Ballot Papers will see results being released at around 4am if no recounts or other delays happen.
