Chase star Paul Sinha and American comedy Legend Rich Hall will play this year’s Southport Comedy Festival
THE organisers of the Southport Comedy Festival are delighted to announce 2 more fantastic names for this year’s Southport Comedy Festival in association with Halliwell Jones BMW. Multi award winning comedians Paul Sinha and Rich Hall will be bringing their latest shows to the festival this October 2023. Star of TV and radio Paul Sinha will be returning to the festival for a 9th year with a brand-new show Pauly Bengali on Thursday, 12 October 2023. Paul’s 2022 show was 1 of the best reviewed shows at last year’s Edinburgh Festival. Expect nothing less this year from ‘1 of our most thoughtful and enjoyable comedians’ (The Times). Best known as The Sinnerman on ITV’s The Chase. Paul is a Rose d'Or Award winner for radio comedy, and Chortle Award winner and Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee for his stand-up. Paul is a familiar voice on radio appearing on Just A Minute, The News Quiz and Fighting Talk. On television, Paul has appeared on QI, Would I Lie to You? and Taskmaster. Comedy legend American stand-up Rich Hall will be closing the 17 day comedy Event on Sunday, 15 October 2023 with his latest show Shot From Cannons. Fresh on the heels of his critically acclaimed memoirs, Nailing It, Montana’s transatlantic messenger returns with new rants, knife-edge observations, thrilling musical interludes and an ever-formidable knack for laughs on the fly. Rich Hall has fronted the hugely successful BBC Four documentaries Rich Hall’s Red Menace, Rich Hall’s Working for the American Dream, Rich Hall’s Countrier Than You, Rich Hall’s Presidential Grudge Match, Rich Hall’s California Stars, Rich Hall’s You Can Go to Hell, I’m Going to Texas, and Rich Hall’s Inventing the Indian. In addition, he has appeared on BBC 1’s QI, Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News for You, he wrote and starred in his own reoccurring BBC Radio 4 show Rich Hall’s (US Election) Breakdown and has penned articles for The Guardian and The Sunday Times. Rich and Paul join an already star studded line up of comedians for this year's festival which will be held once again in a luxury heated and seated marquee courtesy of Elite Marquees at Victoria Park. Irish funnymen and festival favourites Jason Byrne and Jimeoin, world-famous prankster and Lee Nelson creator Simon Brodkin, star of I’m a Celebrity Seann Walsh, Phoenix Nights Clinton Baptiste, King of the one liner and star of Mock the Week Gary Delaney and Comedian, podcaster and movie star Tom Davis are already on sale with more shows to be announced.
