FOLLOWING on from last year’s successful exhibition at The ArtHouse in Southport, Liverpool born artist, Pam Thomas, will once again be putting her expressive talent on show from:- 4 March to 22 March 2025 with a further thought provoking collection of artwork entitled ‘Symphony of Nature’.

“In my previous exhibition, ‘Our Fragile World,’ I aimed to highlight the delicate balance of our ecosystems and the urgent need to acknowledge and protect the wildlife that surrounds us. It was a reflection on loss - loss of habitats, species and the intricate connections that sustain life on our planet. With ‘Symphony of Nature’ I am building upon this foundation by celebrating the exciting beauty of nature while at the same time encouraging its preservation.”, said Pam Thomas.

This diverse new showcase of artwork unmistakably validates Pam’s dedication to using her own creativity “as a means of encouraging a positive change in the world”.

Pam’s artistic journey began at an early age with a fascination for drawing and painting people that inevitably led to enrolling onto a Foundation Course at Mid-Cheshire College where she 1st developed her love for ceramics. The experience changed her creative outlook and in 2000 Pam went on to graduate with a B.Des (Hons) in ceramics and textiles from Liverpool Hope University.

Although her preferred medium remains ceramics, Pam also enjoys working with paint and stitch to further develop her initial concepts and ideas.

“Through my work, I invite the viewers to immerse themselves in the rhythms of nature, fostering a sense of wonder and a call to action. As I weave these elements together - music, wildlife and the threads of our shared environment - I hope to inspire a deeper connection to our world and an awareness of our role in its conservation.”, said Pam.

Escalating concerns for the degenerating state of the environment have inevitably shaped her recent work. Witnessing the loss of butterflies in her garden and the pollution plaguing the world has dramatically impacted on her creative direction. Through her art, Pam aims to shed light on these issues, provoking thought and inspiring action towards a more sustainable future.

“This new body of work captures the harmony and interdependence found within the natural world. The clay musicians symbolize the joy and artistry inherent in life, mirroring the melodies of ecosystems they inhabit. Each piece reflects not only a celebration of nature’s splendour but an acknowledgment of its fragility.”, Pam added.

‘Symphony of Nature’ positively reinforces Pam’s creative mission through her artistic observations:- “I am hoping the work will get people thinking about how we are damaging the world and what we are leaving for the next generation to sort out”.

Certainly not 1 to be missed, this latest display by Pam will be on show at the ArtHouse, Eastbank Street, Southport from 4 – 22 March 2025.  The gallery is open Tuesday – Friday 10.00-15.00.  Saturday 11.00-16.00.

There will be 3 opportunities to ‘Meet the Artist’ in the gallery, 1-3pm on Friday, 7 March 2025, Tuesday, 11 March 2025 and Thursday, 20 March 2025.
