A wet start for the 100th Southport Flower Show
TODAY was the 1st day of the 100th Southport Flower Show. Despite the weather, the show has been busy. As the gates opened to visitors for a fun-filled day with flowers, food, and family entertainment, the weather did not not dampen the proceedings. This year's event for those who are not interested in flowers still has lots of fantastic things to see and do, from Birds of Prey flying displays by Mercer Falconry, a dog display by the amazing West Lancs Dog Display Team, along with cookery demonstrations with celebrity chefs, bee keeping, craft, and art tents, and that is just the start of the list... We are told that this year's event has over 350 trade exhibitors, it’s packed full of everything you could want for you, your home, and your garden, along with activities for children. Plus you might bump into a celebrity or two... Southport is still in shock, but the show itself is moving ahead as normal, but nearly all the garden displays have temporary pink memorials to Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar; who were killed in the Southport knife attack on:- 29 July 2024. The show is running every day until:- 5pm this Sunday (18 August 2024) and is not to be missed. For more information about the show see:-SouthportFlowerShow.Co.UK.
