ORMSKIRK School has capped an exceptional year for its Performing Arts Department after claiming 2 top prizes at the NODA Regional Finals on:- Saturday, 2 May 2026, recognising the very best in youth theatre across the Northwest.

The school, which is part of the Endeavour Learning Trust, arrived at the finals having already made its mark at district level in March, where it won 5 awards in total.

2 productions were selected to represent their district at the regional stage, competing against winners from across the wider area.

At the regional finals, the school was awarded Best Staging of a Youth Musical for its production of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ and Best Youth Drama for the original piece ‘No Man’s Land’.

Special recognition was given to the ambitious staging of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’, including the technical feat of safely creating live rain on stage.

‘No Man’s Land’, created and performed entirely by 6th form learners Chloe Ainsworth, Hannah Arnold and Hazel Jutla, was praised by judges for its powerful exploration of injustice and war.

Following the ceremony, NODA District Representative Jim Briscoe visited the school to personally congratulate young people and staff, offering high praise for the professionalism, creativity and ambition shown throughout both productions.

Ormskirk headteacher John Burnham said:- “These achievements reflect the extraordinary talent, dedication and ambition of our learners and staff. To receive recognition at regional level against such strong competition is a tremendous accomplishment and one the whole school community is incredibly proud of.”
