Almost half of all Hospital Doctors are Resident Doctors. You will see Resident Doctors working in almost every part of a busy Hospital.

This includes A&E where they might:- diagnose you or put you under anaesthetic, write prescriptions, support the process of admission and discharge.

When asked about the disruption UNISON North West regional organiser Kevin Dolan said:- “It's disappointing the trust has ignored the union's requests to sit down and negotiate a resolution to this dispute. Nobody wants to be on strike, and there's still time for Managers to come back with a fair solution and avoid disruption. But cutting pay and slashing pensions is no way to deal with staff shortages. Many workers are already struggling to make ends meet and are rightly angry at this approach."
