Liverpool now has 11 Family Hubs as council continues to expand offer

LIVERPOOL now has 11 Family Hubs operating across the City as the council looks to establish a hub in every neighbourhood. 

5 hubs have been opened in 2026 so far, adding to the 6 that had opened previously. 

Building on the well-established strengths of Liverpool’s Children’s Centres, a Family Hub is a place where all families with children and young people aged 0-19 (or 25 if the young person has special educational needs or disabilities) can access coordinated support, information, advice, and activities.

There are now Family Hubs in Clubmoor, Fountains, Granby, Picton, Speke, Stoneycroft, Fazakerley, Kensington, Belle Vale, Wavertree and Dovedale.

Once all of these hubs are operational, the number of Family Hubs in the City will have doubled as the council establishes a hub in every neighbourhood.  

There were previously only 5 Family Hubs in Liverpool, but the council plans to expand this number to 12, ensuring every community can access a hub close to home.

Cllr Joanne Kennedy, Cabinet Member for Employment, Educational Attainment & Skills at Liverpool City Council, said:- “Our ambition was that every neighbourhood in Liverpool can access their own Family Hub, and this expansion means that we’re now well on our way to delivering that. Over recent weeks we’ve had a flurry of launch events at the new hubs, and I’ve been blown away by how many families have turned up to see what their local hub has to offer. This just shows how needed these hubs are and will be to providing families with the right support within their own communities. Family Hubs are there to ensure families can find a multitude of resources and activities designed to support their health, education, and wellbeing, in a supportive environment. Please go and visit your local Family Hub once it’s open to find out more about the services they can offer.”
