NHS Staff and members of the local community are being invited to come together at:- Princes Park, Park Run in Liverpool, on:- Saturday 4 July 2026, at:- 9 am, to celebrate the NHS and promote the benefits of physical activity for mental wellbeing.

Led by Talking Therapies Liverpool, the event will see NHS staff, local residents, and running groups unite at Princes Park (L8 3SB) for the free weekly Park Run event, which welcomes people of all abilities to walk, jog or run the 5km course.

The initiative aims to highlight how simple, accessible activities like Park Run can support both physical and mental health, while also raising awareness of NHS Talking Therapies; a free NHS service offering support for people experiencing anxiety, low mood, and other common mental health difficulties.Park Run is open to everyone and attracts up to 800 participants each week, creating a vibrant and supportive community atmosphere. Organisers are encouraging colleagues from across Mersey Care, as well as local residents, students and running clubs, to take part.

Lucy Hoskins Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner from NHS Talking Therapies Liverpool, said:- "This is a great opportunity to bring people together to celebrate the NHS while promoting something simple that can make a real difference to wellbeing. You don’t need to be a runner; you can walk, jog, or go at your own pace. Park Run is about community, connection, and taking that 1st step towards better health."

As well as taking part in the run itself, Talking Therapies staff will be on hand to share information about the service and how people can access support if they need it.

Participants can attend on the day without registering, but those wishing to receive an official time are encouraged to sign up in advance via the Park Run website

Following the event, attendees are invited to continue the conversation and connect socially at nearby cafés around Lark Lane.
