JOIN the Southport African Caribbean Heritage Association (SACHA) for a special evening celebrating the legacy, culture and contributions of the Windrush Generation in Southport.

The event will take place on:- Friday, 19 June 2026 and will begin with a free Windrush Flag Raising Ceremony outside Southport Town Hall on Lord Street at:- 5pm. The ceremony is expected to last around 30 minutes and everyone is welcome to attend.

Following the flag raising, celebrations will continue at:- the Bijou Cinema on Post Office Avenue, Southport, with a special Windrush-themed film screening from:- 5.30pm.

The ticketed event will include an inspiring film telling a Windrush story, along with an authentic Caribbean meal. Tickets cost £7 per person, while children can attend free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Guests attending the cinema event can also enjoy children's activities and take part in a community raffle.

The full programme is expected to run from approximately:- 5pm until 8pm.
