THE River levels are expected to remain high on the River Alt due to rainfall, on:- 2 January 2023.
Further flooding could occur at River Alt and other watercourses from:- Huyton to Hightown; including:- Kirkby, Fazakerley, Maghull, Formby, Aughton, Sefton, and Lunt, from:- 10:00 AM, as river levels are expected to remain high as further rainfall is forecast throughout the day.
The Environment Agency said:- "We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water."
