Sefton Council Bin Collections over Christmas and New Year for 2025

EACH year, Sefton Council provides restricted services over the Christmas and New Year period. Most council buildings will be closed from:- 4pm from Wednesday, 24 December 2025, re-opening at 9am on Monday 5 January 2026.

As a result, waste collection services will change. Like last year, the teams that are working will be prioritising grey bin and refuse sack collections.

  • If your normal collection day is:- Monday, 22 December 2025, this collection will remain the same day.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Tuesday, 23 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Monday, 22 December 2025.
  •  If your normal collection day is:- Wednesday, 24 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Tuesday, 23 December 2025.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Thursday, 25 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Wednesday, 24 December 2025.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Friday, 26 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Saturday, 27 December 2025.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Monday, 29 December 2025, this collection will remain the same day.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Tuesday, 30 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Monday, 29 December 2025.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Wednesday, 31 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Tuesday, 30 December 2025.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Thursday, 1 January 2026, this collection will take place on:- Wednesday, 31 December 2025.
  • If your normal collection day is:- Friday, 2 January 2026, this collection will remain the same day.


Normal service resumes week commencing:- Monday, 5 January 2026.
