UNITED Utilities welcomes a new County Business Lead for water in Merseyside to drive forward over £200m of investment over the next 5 years to 2030.
Ian Porter will manage a team of 150 operational and support staff, responsible for the entire process of collecting raw water and treating it to our exceptionally high standards, before it’s distributed through customers’ taps across Merseyside.
Ian’s career with United Utilities began in 1997 in customer services, before diversifying his experience with roles in financial control, developer services, economic regulation and most recently into operational performance management in the very county he’s been promoted into.
Talking of his promotion, Ian said:- “I’m both proud and privileged to step into the role of County Business Lead, working with a high performing and dedicated team for Merseyside where we will continue to work hard to provide an exemplary service for our customers every day. I am committed to ensuring our communities have a resilient, and high-quality water supply direct to their homes and businesses, and we will work closely with dedicated partners across multiple sectors to deliver our ambitious plans both now, and for the future. This includes exciting plans to deliver our mains renewal programme, which will upgrade key parts of our water infrastructure so that we can continue to supply great drinking water to our customers for years to come. Together we can deliver on our shared vision to create a stronger, greener and healthier North West.”
